New Beginnings in Manitoba!

Hi Friends,

The 3 of us are finally settled back at home in Steinbach. Hawaii was great, but we are excited to start up the Island Breeze Manitoba YWAM base.

Julius and Naomi Malama, along with their 2 girls (Gabrielle - age 4, Jaida - age 1), have moved from New Zealand to complete our core team to pioneer Island Breeze Manitoba. We are very lucky to have such talented people with amazing hearts walking alongside us. They are a blessing to have here and are adjusting well to our cold weather and new culture.

On October 22nd, we had a kick-off event for this new ministry. We were very blessed to have many Island Breeze International family members alongside us. We also had a fantastic team of young First Nations dancers, lead by Pastor Matthew Garrick from Cross Lake, who performed during this event. It was an evening where we received invitation from the elders of Cross Lake reservation, and had the opportunity to do proper protocol to some key First Nations representatives, our MP and mayor of Steinbach, and a church and YWAM representative. This was followed by a cultural presentation from Island Breeze (polynesian dances).

This event meant so much to us. It was a physical symbol of starting things on the right foot spiritually for this ministry. Currently we are spending time in prayer asking God 'what is the first step for us?' We have many good ideas but want to make sure that we are hearing God's ideas. We don't want to just run programs for the sake of running programs. We are trusting God to continue speaking clearly to us in this time of active waiting as we continue to prepare ourselves for the future.

Take a look at our pictures!

Blessings,
Tessa
