Week 7 of DTS

We are now on week 7 for the discipleship training school that Isi and I are working with. This week the DTS travelled to Fingal (2 hours from Brisbane) to have lectures on Lordship with an Aboriginal Australian pastor. Isi, Silina and I are in Fingal as well, and although it takes a bit more effort to be on the road with a baby, we are enjoying ourselves. The DTS students will be learning about Aboriginal culture this week in addition to the lectures, and will get to participate in various activities (such as kayaking).
The students are growing in many ways and have already developed incredibly in the last 7 weeks. It is a pleasure to work with them and mentor them. They are still a very unified group and want to see God do big things through them. It is disappointing that we won't be able to go on outreach with this team (we will be in Hawaii) since we believe they will have a great impact wherever they go.
Silina is growing fast and doing very well. Today she turned 5 months! She is becoming more fun by the day and does very funny things at this age. She loves to jump in her jolly jumper and buzz her lips. This week she has her own bedroom (for the first time! yay!) so we are again working on her bedtime routine.
Last week Isi (with the help of his small group) organized a pool party for the base. He played in the very talented live band and we had a 'lovo' (Fijian way of cooking food underground). It was a great time of fellowship. Isi is very gifted in planning and executing fantastic events :)
As for me, I am enjoying life in ministry and with my beautiful daughter and husband. We are finding the balance between giving our time and spending time as a family. Next week the DTS will travel on to a further location, but we will stay in Fingal for a few days enjoying some "us" time. We are all looking forward to that. I am loving pouring into the young women on the DTS and hosting game nights in our cabin. The students were very happy to hear that we were coming out to Fingal and are excited when we spend time with them outside of class.
Well, our company has left (we had a staff meeting at our house today followed by supper and a movie), Silina is fast asleep, and Isi & I are enjoying some much needed relaxing time in front of the tv. We hope that all of you back home are doing well! Send us an email when you get the chance :)
